About Me

A photo of Jason Webb - UK Writer and MusicianSince I often blog on Jason-Webb.com about my own personal opinions, I feel that it’s only fair that I let you know a little bit more about me.

I hope that the brief background given below helps you understand a little bit more about me, and where I’m coming from.

Who Am I?

As you may have already worked out, my name is Jason Webb. I’m a man in my mid-40s, who lives in Southampton, on the UK’s sunny (!) south coast.

One of my proudest boasts is that I have an IQ of 151. Sadly, I didn’t learn that I had “very superior” intelligence until I’d turned 30. Until then, I was a bit doubtful of my own abilities.

I’m not married yet, as I’ve always been too caught up in my work, and wanted to travel the World a bit (preferably spending more time in Japan, which I love), rather than being stuck in one place, raising a family. It’s a situation that I’m quite happy with, if I’m honest.

My History

I officially started work in 1988, at the age of 16, as an apprentice electrician in a shipyard building warships. In hindsight, it wasn’t the best industry to become involved with, because shipbuilding in general was dying out in the UK (and is now practically gone, apart from the aforementioned warships).

However, I gradually moved from being an electrician to being an electrical designer, which led me to work on several World Record breaking shipbuilding projects, none of which involved warships.

My main hobby since the early 1980s had been computer programming, so I always tried to do that in my spare time. Eventually, in 2013, designing warships became too much for me, so I left that industry to focus on designing and programming games for mobile phones and tablets.

Since then, I’ve made several games for both Android devices, and iPhone and iPad. The most popular of these games have been Boxing Manager, MMA Manager, and Shoot Pro Wrestling.

I continue to work on new mobile games, but I also work on many other writing projects, including writing articles for this site.

I hope that you enjoy what I have to offer, and that you find it either useful, entertaining, or both.
